This resource is the result of ACLR's research project Innovative Construction on Chinese Interlanguage Corpus. The project manager is Zhang Baolin, chief expert of ACLR and Professor of BLCU.

The project has built a Global Chinese Interlanguage Corpus, featuring rich resources, large scale and comprehensive types. The total number of words in the original corpus has reached 22.75 million words, and the annotated reached 115 million words, including written, spoken, and video corpus of Chinese language learners from 111 countries and regions (countries and regions with less than 10 works not counted). It fully demonstrates the landscape of foreigners learning Chinese.

Upholding the purpose of serving Chinese language teaching and research all over the world, the Corpus was launched for trial in April 2018 and officially opened to users from all walks of life around the world for free on March 4, 2019.
