ACLR Signs a Strategic Cooperation Agreement with International Language Service Solution of Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press

On May 31st, 2018, ACLR signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the International Language Service Solution (ILSS) of Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press (FLTRP) in Beijing. Li Yuming, Director of ACLR, Yang ErHong, Executive Deputy Director of ACLR, Liu Heping, Honorary Dean of School of Translation and Interpreting of BLCU, Xu Jianzhong, Chief Editor of FLTRP and Chang Xiaoling, Deputy Editor-in-chief of FLTRP attended the signing ceremony which was hosted by Peng Donglin, General Manager of ILSS.

Executive Deputy Director Yang and Deputy Editor-in-chief Chang signed the agreement under the witness of all participants. ACLR and ILSS would become strategic coordination units, and establish long-term cooperations on the premise of complementary advantages, mutual benefit and win-win results The two sides would conduct in-depth cooperation on the development of MOOC in multiple languages, the construction of Chinese-foreign languages dictionary database, the development of the Olympic Winter Games Term Portal, the research of regions and countries, the publication and other fields.


Background Information

The International Language Service Solution (ILSS) of Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press (FLTRP) was established in Nov 2015, answering to the call of the Belt and Road initiative. ILSS is supported by FLTRP’s qualified publication resources, education resources and foreign language ability developed over a long term. It focuses on the theme publication based on cross-media integration, online and offline multi-language education and training, translation services, professional consultation for enterprises and institutions “going global”. It aims to provide language and culture services and information support for the implementation of “One Belt and Road Initiative” and the “going out” strategy.
