On the morning of Dec 11, 2019, the delivery ceremony of the Olympic Winter Games Term Portal Version 2, developed by ACLR, was held in the multi-functional hall on the first floor of the Conference Building at BOCOG. This marks the official handover of the upgraded version to BOCOG, following the delivery of Version 1 on Dec 13, 2018.
He Jianghai, Deputy Secretary General of BOCOG, Liu Hong, Deputy Director of the Department of Language Information Management in the Ministry of Education, and Huang Yifang, Vice President of BLCU attended the delivery ceremony and made speeches. Prof. Liu Heping, Manager and Chief Expert of the Olympic Winter Games Term Portal Project, Mr. Daniel Glon, AIIC Senior Interpreter, Prof. Yang Erhong, Executive Deputy Director of ACLR, and members of the expert panel of the Project also joined the ceremony. The ceremony was hosted by Wan Xuejun, Deputy Director of International Relations Department of BOCOG.
At the ceremony, Vice President Huang Yifang presented the mobile-end user manual written in Chinese, English, and French to the Deputy Secretary General He Jianghai, and both of them, together with Deputy Director Liu Hong jointly launched the Version 2.

The Olympic Winter Games Term Portal Project is managed by Prof. Liu Heping of BLCU, and an expert panel has been set up with senior Olympics interpreter Daniel Glon as the Chief Expert. The expert panel consists of 11 members including senior terminology experts, translation experts, and language service experts for the Olympics from countries of China, the United States, Korea, Japan, Russia, Canada, etc. So far, under the guidance of BOCOG, the Ministry of Education and the State Language Commission, and the devotion of the experts, remarkable achievements have been made on V2: the portal includes about 125,000 terms in total, among which, there are 9539 terms for core events, 27022 Chinese terms, 30015 English terms, 19166 French terms, 12388 Japanese terms, 16111 Russian terms, 11135 Korean terms, and 9539 German terms. Hundreds of specialized vocabularies and thousands of commonly used Chinese-English public signs extracted from the Olympic Winter Games Language Service Style Book were newly added to this version. Besides, common vocabularies and terms will be added in real time according to the need of test events. It is expected that by the end of 2021, the Version 3 will have been built with parallel Chinese, English, French, Japanese, Korean and Russian terms.
