On the morning of May 3rd, 2018, Prof. Joël Bellassen, the noted sinologist in France, was appointed as the International Academic Advisor of ACLR. Prof. Li Yuming, Director of ACLR issued the letter of appointment to Prof. Joël Bellassen. Prof. Zhang Wangxi, Assistant President of BLCU and Director of the Faculty of International Chinese Education, Prof. Liu Xun, Prof. Cui Yonghua and Prof. Jiang Liping attended the appointment ceremony.
After the appointment ceremony, the participants had a discussion and exchanged ideas on topics of global intelligent Chinese language learning, development and utilization of European Chinese learning data, MOOC and language protection.
Introduction of Prof. Joël Bellassen:
Prof. Joël Bellassen received his doctorate in Sinology from Université Paris Diderot-Paris 7 in 1978. He is the first Inspector General in the field of Chinese Language Teaching at the Ministry of National Education of France, the first Ph.D. Supervisor of Chinese teaching method in Europe, the founder and first president of the French Association of Chinese Teachers (AFPC), a renowned sinologist, and professor of National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations (INALCO). He has published 91 academic articles and successively edited 40 monographs, such as Instructions for the Use of Chinese Grammar, Ideographic Empire of Chinese Characters, Dictionary of Interpreting Words, etc. The textbook A Key for Chinese Speech and Writing edited by him has become the most popular textbook in French schools since its publication in 1989.
