The project selects six countries, including Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam, which are all closely related to the “One Belt and One Road Initiatives”, to carry out surveys on language and culture resources, as well as collect language research documents of these targeted countries. In accordance with the unified standards, the project makes use of modern technology, and learns from the existing experience of the construction of language resource base, and ultimately builds a large-scale, functional and open database. The sustainable exploitation and utilization of multi-modal database is composed of language resources, language and culture resources, language research literature covering China's six neighboring countries. It aims to demonstrate the language and culture features, to protect language and culture resources, as well as to serve language research and teaching, and economic construction.
