ACLR Receives Its First Social Donation

On May 13, 2019, the first social donation was delivered to ACLR by Shenzhen Jiuteng Culture and Education Foundation. The donation will be mainly used to support ACLR to carry out language resources construction including cross-border language resources and military language resources.

Li Yuming, Director of ACLR , Jin Ke, Secretary General of Beijing Language and Culture University Education Foundation, Liu Huiyuan,Chairman of Shenzhen Jiuteng Culture and Education Foundation, and Liu Xiaohai, Deputy Director of ACLR, attended the donation ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Tian Liepeng, Deputy Director of ACLR .

Established on May 21st, 2013, Beijing Language and Culture University Education Foundation aims to promote education, improve the quality of education and scientific research, cultivate high-quality talents, increase the connectivity between university and society, and strive for the support and donation from domestic and foreign groups and individuals. The Foundation receives donations from various public organizations, enterprises, institutions, social organizations and individuals at home and abroad. The funds raised by the Foundation are mainly used to support the development of education in BLCU, reward excellent students and teachers and help needy students. The funds are also expected to facilitate teaching research, scientific research and publication of works, encourage teachers to go abroad for further study and participate in international academic cooperation and conferences, in the meantime improve teaching facilities, including buildings, equipment, books and other materials and enhance educational public welfare. Donations for specific projects can be used based on the wishes and opinions of donors.

Shenzhen Jiuteng Culture and Education Foundation was initiated by Liu Huiyuan from Shenzhen University, and founded together with several senior scholars and entrepreneurs. The foundation is established for the development of basic education in the cross-border minority areas with strategic significance and in response to the Belt and Road Initiative. The name of “Jiuteng” originates from “Jiuteng Study” of Gu Mu, the deceased former leader of CPC and PRC. Therefore, one of the purposes of the foundation is to commemorate Gu Mu.
